The Experience

A night in the clouds, then a sunrise summit.

Meeshapulimala — the second-highest peak in the Western Ghats at 2,640 m — rises above Munnar on the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border. Over two days we jeep-safari through the Silent Valley tea estate to a base camp, trek to the Kurinji Valley waterfalls, sleep in tents under the stars, and climb to a sunrise summit above a sea of cloud — with the rare Neelakurinji in bloom this season.

The Neelakurinji bloom

The hills turn purple-blue as the rare Neelakurinji — which flowers only once every twelve years — carpets the slopes right now.

Above the clouds

At 2,640 m the summit stands over a valley of cloud — the roof of the Western Ghats.

Cancellation Policy

Clear terms, up front.

High-altitude camping depends on cold nights and clear skies — both outside anyone's control. These are the terms you agree to when you book.

Standard cancellations
  • Cancel 15 or more days before the trek date and you receive a 75% refund.
  • Cancellations within 15 days of the trek date are not refundable.
  • Eligible refunds are credited to the original payment method within 7 working days of confirmation.
Advance & balance
  • The ₹1,500 advance confirms the seat and is subject to the terms above. The ₹2,399 balance is payable before the trek; a seat may be released if the balance is not settled in time.
  • Chai Routes is not responsible for travel costs you incur to reach the Munnar Town reporting point.
Rescheduling & transfers
  • Bookings are non-transferable and cannot be rescheduled on request — regardless of personal reasons, unavailability or a change of plans.
Weather & safety
  • If the camp, trek or sunrise safari is called off for bad weather, forest or trail closures, or a safety decision, no refund is issued. Instead you choose either:
  • Reschedule to any date within 12 months, subject to availability; or
  • A full-value voucher, valid 12 months, against any future Chai Routes trip.
Permits & government orders
  • Where entry follows the Kerala Forest Department / KFDC rules, those apply, and the original ID used at booking must be produced on the day of the trek.
  • No refunds for cancellations caused by government-imposed restrictions, natural calamities or other circumstances beyond Chai Routes' control — the reschedule or 12-month voucher options apply instead.

By confirming a booking with Chai Routes you acknowledge and agree to these terms. They exist to keep trips running while offering fair alternatives when conditions are genuinely outside our hands.
