Kolukkumalai Camping

High above Munnar, Kolukkumalai sits at around 2,100 m. Camp the night in alpine tents under cold, clear skies, then make the off-road jeep climb in the dark to a sunrise most people only ever see in photographs.

1. Boarding, in order — KR Puram, Baiyappanahalli, Majestic, Nayandahalli, then Kengeri (last stop)
2. Time will vary — the exact boarding time is shared on the trip WhatsApp group
3. Overnight drive south into the Ghats
4. Please have dinner before boarding — not included

Day One

Munnar → the camp

1. 8:00 – 11:00 AM — reach Munnar; breakfast en route (not included · time may vary)
2. Photo & rest halts at Lockhart Gap, the Gap Road viewpoints and Chinnakanal to Suryanelli waterfalls
3. Continue the climb towards the campsite through the tea country
4. Lunch en route (not included · time may vary)
5. 3:00 – 5:00 PM — campsite check-in, freshen up & welcome drink
6. Tea & snacks, and time to rest
7. Sunset trek to Anayirankal Dam, then back as the light goes
8. Dinner, campfire with music & games
9. Overnight stay in alpine tents

Day Two

The sunrise day → Bangalore

1. 4:00 – 5:00 AM — early morning wake-up call at camp
2. Jeep safari (9–14 km) to Kolukkumalai via Suryanelli, through the tea estate
3. Sunrise above the clouds — panoramic Western Ghats views
4. Return to camp & breakfast
5. Check out, then begin the return drive to Bangalore
6. Viewpoint or waterfall halts en route, if not covered on Day 1 — subject to timing & weather
7. Lunch en route (not included)
8. Overnight drive — arrive back in Bangalore by early morning
